Palisade Sliding Gates

On sites with heavy vehicle traffic or no room for a swing arc, a palisade sliding gate closes the perimeter by running sideways instead of swinging open, while keeping the same imposing, unmistakably secure appearance as a palisade fence line. Every gate is a complete, made-to-measure unit, fabricated before it leaves us and supplied manually operated or ready for automation. Tracked or Cantilever

There are two ways a palisade sliding gate can travel. A tracked system runs on a rail set into the ground across the opening, which works reliably on a level concrete or tarmac base — the standard surface on most commercial and industrial sites. A cantilever system does away with the ground track entirely, carrying the gate on rollers along a track fixed to a concrete pad to one side, so there’s nothing at ground level in the path of vehicles or plant. On a site with constant heavy traffic, that absence of a ground-level rail is often the reason cantilever wins out. Let us know your opening width and the ground conditions and we’ll recommend the right system.

Fabricated to Your Site

Where kit-based palisade sliding systems are sold in preset width bands, we build from your actual opening dimensions instead — including the extra overhang a cantilever system needs to carry the gate clear of the opening when parked open.

Pale Profiles and Head Styles

The same full range of palisade profiles and finishes applies to a sliding gate as to a fixed fence line — W-section or D-section pales, and a choice of triple pointed, single pointed, rounded and notched, or plain rounded tops, so the sliding gate matches the rest of your perimeter rather than standing out as a different product.

Automation

We supply palisade sliding gates manually operated or fully automated, and can fit the complete automation system as part of the installation. The gate’s fixed, repeatable travel path suits motorised operation well, whatever the traffic volume through the site.

Where Palisade Sliding Gates Are Used

Depots, industrial estates, utility and substation compounds, and construction sites with regular heavy vehicle movements are the most common settings — anywhere a strong physical and visual deterrent matters as much as the space-saving benefit of sliding over swinging. Where visibility through the gate is more important than an imposing presence, our mesh sliding gate offers the same tracked-or-cantilever choice with a more open aspect.

Finishes

As standard, gates are hot-dip galvanised before anything else, with a polyester powder coat available on top in any RAL shade — black and green remain the traditional choice, though we’re not limited to either.

Nationwide Supply, Installation and Automation

Every palisade sliding gate we build is delivered complete and ready to install, anywhere in the UK, with automation and full fitting available if you’d rather leave the whole project to us. Call 0208 911 6000 to talk through your site.
