Description
These composite driveway gates with glass panel are built around a single horizontal band of glazing running across the middle of each leaf. Above and below that band, warm oak-effect wood-plastic composite boards run horizontally, filling the majority of the gate face. The overall composition reads as a substantial composite gate with a slim, light-catching stripe at eye height.
The glazed strip is the design’s most useful feature and its most distinctive one. Practically, it allows you to sense movement on the other side of the gate — a delivery arriving, a visitor waiting — without lifting the whole leaf. Aesthetically, it breaks up what would otherwise be a very dense composite face and gives the gate a lighter, more considered feel. The glazing can be frosted, patterned or clear depending on how much privacy is wanted.
Build specification pairs a metal frame with wood-plastic composite (WPC) infill boards, plus the glazed unit set into its own dedicated frame section. The composite delivers a wood look that will not warp, splinter or need a paintbrush; the frame carries the structural load and takes the hinge and lock fixings. Cleaning the glass is straightforward and the composite needs only an occasional wash.
Because these are 3/4 split gates, the larger driveway leaf and the narrower pedestrian gate both carry the same horizontal boards and the same glazed strip at the same height. Visually the mid-band lines up across the pair, so the design reads as continuous rather than two separate gates side by side. The pedestrian leaf is your day-to-day access point; the wide leaf opens for vehicles.
WPC comes in a variety of colours, so the oak-effect finish shown is one of many choices — cooler greys and darker walnut effects can suit different property styles. The glazed strip can be omitted, replaced with additional composite boards or specified in a different privacy grade. Every set is built to fit the surveyed opening and the height of the glazed band can be tuned so it sits at natural eye level.
