Oak Open Top 3/4 Split Composite Driveway Gates

Description

These vertical board composite driveway gates give you full privacy across the working height of the gate and a lighter, more open feel across the top. The main panel of each leaf is filled with vertical oak-effect composite boards; above that, a section of black metal spindles or slim bars runs to the top rail, letting daylight and airflow through without compromising the security below.

The vertical board direction is the defining feature. It lengthens the gate visually and pushes the eye upwards, which flatters shorter frontages where a strong horizontal design might make the entrance feel squat. The pale oak effect brings warmth to the composite surface, and the black metal spindles above pick up any wrought ironwork elsewhere on the property — railings, balconies, window guards.

The frame is metal, the infill is wood-plastic composite (WPC). This is the standard composite gate build — a load-bearing perimeter carrying the composite boards. Because the composite is not doing structural work, it can concentrate on being visually correct: a woodgrain surface that resists rot, weathering and splintering, and that does not need refinishing to keep looking right.

The 3/4 split configuration puts a compact pedestrian gate alongside the larger driveway leaf. Both leaves carry the same vertical-board infill and the same open-top spindle detail, so the pair reads as matched. For daily use the narrow gate is opened for foot traffic; the wide vehicle leaf stays closed and undisturbed. This is easier on both the hinges and the automation if the gate is later powered.

Colour selection for the WPC boards runs across a variety of shades — warm oaks like the finish shown, mid-tone browns, darker walnut effects and cool greys. The spindle top and metal frame can be finished separately. Because sizes are made to survey, both the height of the composite section and the depth of the open-top spindle band can be adjusted to suit the property.
