Description
These contemporary aluminium driveway gates play two directions against each other, setting blocks of horizontal louvre slats alongside sections of upright vertical bars within the same frame. The alternating grain gives the face a woven, almost tailored quality that stands clearly apart from a single-direction slat gate.
Where the horizontal louvres provide screening and a sense of solidity, the vertical bar sections open the design up, letting light and sightlines slip through at intervals. The result is a balanced rhythm of closed and open across the width of each leaf, so the gate reads as neither fully private nor fully transparent but a considered blend of the two.
Crisp matt black unifies the differing slat runs, so the changes in direction register as deliberate design lines rather than a mismatch. A slim surrounding frame squares off the whole composition and keeps every junction between the horizontal and vertical fields sharp and intentional.
Each gate is engineered to the width you measure, allowing the split between horizontal and vertical zones to be positioned so the panels stay even and symmetrical for your particular opening rather than a generic one. Rust-proof throughout, the aluminium copes easily with damp or exposed plots, and its light weight makes adding automation a simple upgrade.
Against a crisp white rendered frontage the interplay of directions looks especially at home, echoing the clean geometry of modern architecture. Rendered in a lighter RAL, the same gate would read as softer and more textural, the slat pattern gently catching the light rather than presenting as a solid dark plane against the wall. Whichever tone is chosen, the powder coat is colour-fast and never needs repainting, holding its finish through sun and frost alike. The two directions of slatting are held within a single rigid frame, so the face stays flat and true even across a wide vehicle opening.
