Description

These contemporary aluminium driveway gates present a run of solid horizontal boards that close off sightlines entirely, giving a clean wall of seclusion across the opening. The defining feature sits along the top, where the rail sweeps gently down from the raised outer stiles to a low point where the two leaves meet, softening the otherwise strict geometry of the boarded face.

Because the boarding runs edge to edge without visible gaps, the design leans firmly toward privacy rather than open display, which makes it a natural choice for a frontage overlooked by the road or by neighbouring windows. Slim framing wraps each leaf and keeps the profile tidy, so nothing distracts from the sweeping line above, and the concave curve stops the solid infill from reading as a plain slab.

Set up as a double-leaf pair, the two halves come together on a central stile and swing back to a broad vehicle-width span. Seen straight on, the matching dips form a shallow valley across the top that neatly frames the garden and house behind. A deep matt black finish draws the boarded surface into one confident graphic block against the surrounding brick.

Each pair is cut to the width you supply, so the number of boards and the depth of the curve are worked out around your driveway rather than lifted from a fixed template. Being aluminium, the finished leaves stay light enough to automate smoothly on a swing motor, while the powder-coated surface shrugs off the weather with little more than the occasional wash.

In black the boarding behaves as one bold mass, yet the very same gate softens noticeably in a paler shade. A muted grey or heritage green lets the horizontal courses and the swept rail come forward more gently, a treatment that sits comfortably against warm period brickwork like the frontage shown rather than competing with it.
