Mesh Double Gate

A mesh double gate gives a commercial or industrial site a wide, secure vehicle entrance without sacrificing visibility across the opening — the welded mesh panel construction keeps sightlines open for staff, visitors and site security, while still presenting a genuine physical barrier at the perimeter. Every gate we supply is a complete, made-to-measure unit, fully fabricated before it leaves us, so there’s no on-site assembly required. Built to Your Opening, Not a Standard Size

Kit-based mesh gate systems are sold in fixed height and width increments, which often means rounding a real opening up to the nearest stocked size. We work the other way round: tell us your actual opening width and height, and the gate is fabricated to match it exactly, with the two leaves proportioned to meet cleanly at the centre.

Two Leaves, One Secure Opening

A double leaf configuration suits wider openings than a single gate can comfortably span, splitting the width across two leaves that meet at a centre post or drop bolt. Leaves don’t need to be equal widths — where one side of the opening sees far more pedestrian traffic than vehicle access, we can build an asymmetric double gate so the smaller leaf handles daily foot traffic without the larger leaf needing to open at all.

Mesh Grade and Aperture

Mesh panel gates are available in a range of aperture sizes, from a more open weave that maximises visibility through to a tighter weave for sites where climb and cut resistance matters more than sightlines. Tell us about the site — a school or hospital boundary where visibility is a priority, or an industrial compound where security is the main concern — and we’ll advise on the right mesh grade for the job.

Where Mesh Double Gates Are Used

Mesh double gates are common at school and hospital vehicle entrances, industrial estate compounds, warehouse and depot yards, sports facility surrounds, and any commercial site where a wide, secure opening needs to stay visually open rather than solid. If visibility matters less than an imposing physical presence, our palisade double gates offer the same wide-opening configuration in a more traditional security fencing style.

Finishes

Gates are supplied galvanised as standard, with the option of a polyester powder coating in any RAL colour on top — black and green remain the traditional choice for security fencing, though any colour can be specified to match your site or corporate branding.

Locking and Access

Standard locking options include slide latches and drop bolts, with padlock provision as standard. If you need a specific access control system integrated — coded entry, fob access, or similar — let us know when you enquire and we’ll advise on what’s practical for a double gate of your size.

Nationwide Supply and Installation

We supply complete mesh double gates nationwide, fully fabricated and ready to hang, with installation available if you’d rather we handle the whole job. Call 0208 911 6000 to discuss your site.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can the mesh aperture and style be matched to my existing fencing run?

Yes. We manufacture the gate frame and welded mesh infill to match the aperture size and wire diameter of your existing mesh fencing, so the gate sits visually in line with the surrounding run. Send us a photo or the panel specification from your fencing and we will match it as closely as the available materials allow.

What mesh panel options are available for the infill?

Common options include 358 prison mesh, 656 double-wire mesh, and standard welded mesh panels in a range of aperture sizes. The best choice usually depends on what your existing fence line uses and the level of visibility or rigidity required for the site.

Are mesh gates suitable for sites where visibility through the gate matters?

Yes. Because the infill is an open welded mesh rather than a solid panel, sight lines through the gate are retained. This is often specified where site security or operational monitoring requires a clear view of the area behind the gate.

Do you offer sliding mesh gates for wider industrial openings?

Yes. For wider industrial or commercial openings we can supply sliding mesh gates, including cantilever and tracked options depending on the site. Sliding gates are often preferable where there is limited room for the leaf to swing or where the opening is too wide for a practical single or double swing arrangement.

Can mesh gates be supplied as a double-leaf pair?

Yes. Where a single leaf would be too wide or heavy, we can supply a matching double-leaf pair with a drop bolt or floor latch on the secondary leaf. Both leaves are made to the same mesh specification so the pair reads as one run.

Are the gates reinforced for industrial use?

Mesh gates for industrial and commercial sites are typically built with a heavier box-section or angle frame than a light domestic gate, with the mesh welded or fixed into the frame. We will confirm the frame section and mesh fixing method for your chosen design before production.

Can mesh gates be automated?

Yes. Both swing and sliding mesh gates can be fitted with electric motor kits, either specified at the point of order or retrofitted later. If automation is planned, tell us before production so the gate weight, frame section, and hinge or roller hardware can be selected accordingly.

Can I use my existing gate posts with a new mesh gate?

This is often possible, but it depends on the condition, size, and fixing positions of the existing posts relative to the new gate weight. Contact us with the post dimensions and we will check compatibility before you order.

Are the gates delivered as a complete welded unit or flat-packed for site assembly?

Mesh gates are delivered fully built and ready to hang, not flat-packed. For heavier industrial gates you will need suitable unloading facilities on site, and we will confirm delivery access with you before dispatch.

What finish is applied to mesh gates for outdoor industrial use?

The standard finish is a galvanised undercoat with a polyester powder coat in black, with other RAL colours available on request. This is a common industrial finish combination, though the colour coating will show wear over time in high-contact or impact areas like any site gate.
