Description
These vertical slat composite driveway gates carry a single horizontal accent band across the top of each leaf, with the rest of the panel filled by vertical oak-effect composite boards. A silver metal frame outlines the arrangement, and the horizontal top rail catches the eye before it drops down to the vertical infill below. The pedestrian leaf follows the same layout at a narrower width.
The interplay between the horizontal top strip and the vertical boards beneath is what gives this design its distinctive rhythm. The top band anchors the composition and reads almost as a lintel, while the vertical slats direct the eye downwards and give the gate a taller, more upright feel. It is a useful design where the entrance opening is wider than it is high and needs some visual verticality.
Underneath the wood-effect finish is the standard high-specification build — a metal frame doing the load-bearing work, and wood-plastic composite (WPC) infill boards providing the surface and privacy. The composite boards resist the seasonal problems that plague timber gates: no rotting through the bottom rail after a wet winter, no splinters where the paint has flaked, no need to strip and re-stain every couple of years.
A 3/4 split configuration reflects how a household actually uses its driveway. Vehicles arrive occasionally; people walk in and out daily. The narrow pedestrian leaf handles the foot traffic without the effort of moving the wide vehicle leaf. When a car is on its way in, both leaves can be opened together — either manually or with a fitted automation package — for full-width clearance.
Alongside the oak-effect finish shown here, the WPC comes in a variety of colours from cool greys through mid-browns to darker walnut tones. The silver metal frame can be respecified in a darker finish if preferred. Because the gates are made to the surveyed opening rather than a stock size, the height of the top accent band can be adjusted so it sits naturally against the surrounding wall or fence run.
